Welcome to the Glocal Leaders Institute!

To obey the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus, we must preach the Gospel to all peoples on the earth. And there is a second part of the Great Commission: that we must obey to make it complete. That is, teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded. [Mat. 28:18-20] GLI strives to raise up and nurture Christian leaders of the world, by teaching and networking glocal leaders. Glocal leaders are active witnesses in their local communities, and they also have a global mindset to obey the Great Commission.  GLI strives to network glocal leaders to teach and learn from one another.

To accomplish that goal, we are focusing on mobilizing diaspora churches. Diaspora churches are rich with glocal leaders who have cross-cultural experiences and are familiar with diverse languages. Explore our website to learn more about GLI and our purpose.

I welcome you to GLI, the exciting adventure God has called us to!

Vision and Mission

Vision and Mission

Mission: Our mission is to mobilize Diaspora churches to engage in the Mission of God (Missio Dei). Our efforts include:

  • Facilitating networking among Diaspora churches and missions groups
  • Promoting cross-cultural opportunities to missionary candidates and interested party (parties)
  • Establishing theological education by extension programs in the mission field
  • Resourcing world mission participators

Vision: Through our consultations, mentoring, education, and networking, missionary candidates and mission-minded Christians in the US, as well as in other parts of the world, can be better equipped and serve effectively in the Mission of God—to reach out the end of the earth.

Strategic Plan Summary

Mission: To serve as a global network and catalyst for strategic collaboration among those who share same values and goals

Vision: To see the collaboration efforts become a coordinated force in missions, recognized as a strategic ministry under the Great Commission, so that more Diaspora churches actively engage in spreading the gospel to those who need to hear.

Values

The following values have been adopted, in seeking to express the envisioned GLI:

  1. We value Christ-centered approaches to serving the GLI, applying biblical principles and practices as a network and as individuals, in everything we do.
  2. We value collaboration and partnership—organizationally and individually—among Christians engaged in the world mission to maximize effectiveness.
  3. We value GLI’s role in the fulfilling of the Great Commission and the increased awareness of this role both in the Diaspora churches and the global missions community.
  4. We value excellence in the theological higher education necessary for developing global leaders in the mission field.
  5. We value the centrality of the Diaspora local churches in reaching and discipling next generations.
  6. We value outreach efforts on college campuses and professionals in marketplaces that are particularly under-represented so that more people in leadership may become Christ’s disciples.
  7. We value our international student ministry in the US, and other parts of the world are potential to return to their home countries as capable servants of the gospel.

Main Ministries

  1. Facilitating annual (and semi-annual) forum and journal publishing for the Mission related subjects
  2. Providing resources for individuals and Diaspora churches seeking to become more effective in engaging the world mission
  3. Providing cross-cultural opportunities to the young generation with the apprenticeship of veteran missionaries
  4. Facilitating connections for partnership and collaboration among mission agencies, individuals, and churches
  5. Providing theological education in using mobile school systems for both remote areas in the mission field and scholarly established seminaries
  6. Benchmarking strategically approved projects of GLI in the mission field

Statement of Faith

We value working together among evangelical Christians who share the same core beliefs.

  • We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that the Bible is God’s only inspired written revelation to mankind, and that it is completely trustworthy in all matters of faith and practice.
  • We believe that Christ was born of a virgin, that He died for our sins and that He rose from the dead to provide eternal life to all who trust Him as Lord and Savior.
  • We believe that salvation is available by God’s grace through faith, and that the Holy Spirit is active in regeneration and in transforming the believer into the image of Christ.
  • We believe in the Church as the body of Christ, whose members are dedicated to fellowship and proclamation of the gospel.
  • We believe in the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
